At St. Rose of Lima, the transition to the Eureka math curriculum has been met with great success. Teachers have become more comfortable with the Math content taught in their grade level, students are actively engaged in their Math lessons, and more importantly, students have taken academic ownership over their learning.
With regards to standardized testing, we have seen positive results as well. Our school takes Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing three times a year. Here are some results that are indicative of our initial success in using this new math curriculum:
• The percentage of students that met their growth goal in Math, increased by 25% from the 2017-2018 to the 2018-2019 school year.
• The percentage of total student growth in the school for Math increased by 38% from the 2017-2018 to the 2018-2019 school year.
We are excited to build on the foundation that was established in the 2018-2019 school year, and look forward to greater learning in the 2019-2020 school year!
